Laboral Kutxa Baskonia will make its home debut on the Endesa League next weekend against Unicaja Malaga.
The best national and European basketball is back at the Buesa Arena with a bunch of very interesting games for the fans.
After the league debut in Barcelona on Saturday, the first opponent to visit the Buesa Arena will be Unicaja Malaga. For another season they have managed to form a competitive team to fight in order to stand at the top. The Andalusian team retained most of the core players from last season and got some new players in order to strengthen their roster. Some of the new faces of the team coached by Joan Plaza are: Markovic, Will Thomas, Stefansson, Vasileiadis or Green. After a remarkable season in both Euroleague and domestic competition, Unicaja Malaga will try to repeat or improve the results of last season. Definitely, a great game to open the season in the Buesa Arena on Saturday October 11 at 21:00.
The next team to come will be the Lithuanian Neptunas Klaipeda. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 15 at 20:30 and will mark the start of the new European course. The opening game will face a rookie team on the Euroleague against one of the most traditional teams in the competition. Laboral Kutxa Baskonia will kick off the European season with the objective of advancing once again to the Top 16.
And just around the corner we have the first Basque derby of the season. The weekend of the 25 and 26 of October (time to be confirmed) Bilbao Basket visits the Buesa Arena, definitely one of the most interesting and passionate clashes of the Endesa League. A special game, primarily, for the Baskonia shooter Davis Bertans that will face his brother Dairis Bertans for the first time. The neighbors come to Gasteiz with the presence of three key players: Raul Lopez, Alex Mumbru and Axel Hervelle. The new Bilbao Basket also counts with important additions. Coached by Sito Alonso they will aim to improve last season´s performance.
Galatasaray Liv Hospital Istanbul will culminate an intense month of October here in Vitoria-Gasteiz. The game will be on Friday, October 31 at 20:30. One of the last season surprises who reached the Top 8 and lost to Barcelona visits the Buesa Arena in order to test the new Baskonia in European competition. Pocius, Arroyo, Jawai or Micov are some of the notable Galatasaray players that will be seen in action.
